Background

On December 31, 2007, The Game announced at Nas' New Year's Eve party the title and release date of the album.The album's title was originally "The D.O.C.", but was changed to "L.A.X.". It was reported near mid-March that The Game had left prison. His manager later stated that he was still in jail, but he is expected to be released in time to promote the album.He was released after serving eight days, and went back to work with Cool & Dre.Dre (of Cool & Dre), stated The Game was like 'Pac, and that lyrically, he was "[somewhere] else right now".

The album was pushed back to June 24, as well as rival group G-Unit's sophomore album Terminate on Sight.But was later changed to July 8, as Interscope moved both albums.

On May 1st, The Game told Power 106 that "Big Dreams" might not be on the album.

Production

The Game announced that Dr. Dre will be producing for the album but neither Dr. Dre nor Aftermath Entertainment have confirmed.Nu Jerzey Devil has stated that Dr. Dre, Scott Storch, and Cool & Dre will be producing for the album.On March 28 on the Tim Westwood show, The Game said that he has been in the studio with Scott Storch, Cool & Dre and Just Blaze. He also said that he has "made shit for the clubs" with Scott Storch. On May 1st, The Game told Power 106 so far he has worked with Just Blaze, Kanye West, Cool & Dre, Scott Storch, Timbaland, Ervin "E.P." Pope, Jelly Roll & Tre Beats.

Nu Jerzey Devil has stated that Lil Wayne will be making a guest appearance. So far Akon, Busta Rhymes, Chris Brown, Fabolous, Common, Ice Cube, Kanye West, Keyshia Cole, Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Mary J. Blige, Nas, Ne-Yo, Raekwon, Snoop Dogg, T.I., are all set to make an appearance.

Game's Pain is a song and first official single from The Game which features Keyshia Cole and is set to appear on his third and possibly final album L.A.X..

The song could be considered dedicated to other rappers and the various impacts they had on Game's life. He makes references to The Notorious B.I.G, Nas, Ice Cube (whom he claims is his favorite rapper), LL Cool J, Wu-Tang Clan, and DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, among others.

Music Video

The music video for "Pain" is being shot in Compton. The video will have cameos including Ice Cube, Tiny Lister, Suge Knight, and Raekwon. As of now the video is completed.

The album might be released on july 8th 2008.
