For the first time in quite a while, a hip-hop albums has cracked Billboard's top 5. The honor goes to Webbie, who's "Vol. 2-Savage Life" came in at #4 this week overall, selling 72,497 copies.
Meanwhile Janet Jackson edged Erykah Badu for the #1 spot with her new album "Discipline", moving 181,452. Badu's "New Amerykah" settled for #2, at 123,884 units.
Despite the success of his smash single "Dey Know", Shawty Lo's debut "Units In The City" had to settle for a dissapointing #13 overall, selling just 31,017 units.
Last weeks #1 hip-hop album, Jim Jones's "Harlem's American Gangster" plummeted from #19 overall to #63, moving 11,880, bringing the Capo to 37,008 total.
On the non-Koch indy tip, Pete Rock's "NY's Finest" sneaked into the Top 200 at #193, selling 3,900 units, while Joe Budden's "Mood Muzik 3" was on the outside looking in, moving 1159 copies.
